Getting in some form of exercise most days is important, and there are many benefits to doing so! Exercise releases endorphins, a hormone that your body releases that has many benefits including reduced pain, improved self-esteem, being in a better mood, and more! Whether strength training, getting in some cardio, or mixing in a bit of both, exercise improves heart health, helps prevent chronic illnesses, helps improves flexibility and mobility, improves strength, and the list goes on!
Now, although, the weekly recommended amount of exercise for adults sounds like a bit much, it's very doable & not as difficult as you may think! It is recommended to get in at least 3 days of vigorous physical activity totaling 75-Minutes or 5 days, totaling 150-Minutes of moderate exercise. However, keep in mind that planned exercise is still planned exercise no matter how you split it up. For example, if your goal for the day is to workout for 45-Minutes, you can break that goal into increments and work out for 20-Minutes, and then 25-Minutes later in the day or mix the time increments up to whatever times that best suits your needs.
Over time, as your learning and implementing intention to make exercising a priority, try building up to completing your workout-time goal during one session, and saving the smaller increment breakdowns for the busier days!
Either way, remember, in addition to daily life demands and activities, every minute of planned exercise counts! So even if you are only able to squeeze in 15-minutes at a time, every minute adds up and benefits the mind and body. So get up and get moving!
